Recently, a large-scale protest broke out in Qiongzhong, Hainan Province, China. The public expressed dissatisfaction with a major state-owned enterprise that cut down thousands of betel nut trees belonging to local farmers. The protesters surrounded the enterprise building, removed signs, and overturned several vehicles. A large number of police officers were deployed to maintain order. The police fired warning shots multiple times, and the protest scene became intense and difficult to control. Public opinion quickly spread but was later entirely deleted by authorities.
