WASHINGTON—Amid debate over the future of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Peter McDonough has emerged as a contender to lead the agency, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
A source familiar with McDonough described him as a conservative Texan who would satisfy multiple camps in the administration.
McDonough’s LinkedIn profile states that he has a doctorate in mechanical engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree, both from Texas Tech University.
