The 59-year-old woman, surnamed Li, was caught red-handed in a funeral centre in Hsinchu, northwestern Taiwan after the dead man’s family called the police as a result of her abnormal behaviour, the news outlet SETN reported.

Li and the man, identified as Peng, previously had debt disputes.

When she heard that Peng died on February 21, she darted to the funeral home hours later, bringing a false mortgage document and a promissory note of NT$8.5 million (US$280,000).
