WASHINGTON—Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said on Monday evening that shutting down the government is not “the appropriate response.” The senator was the only Democrat to vote “yes” to advance a GOP bill to keep the government open earlier this month.
“I refuse to vote to shut our government down, and that’s not going to change,” he told reporters at Capitol Hill.
“It’s a losing proposition whether Republicans do it or Democrats do it.”…
