Woman held after ex-boyfriend stabbed with sashimi knife in Hong Kong restaurant

A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her ex-boyfriend with a 30cm-long sashimi knife at a Hong Kong restaurant during an argument.

The suspect, surnamed Cheung, 44, had brought her own knife and was arrested on suspicion of wounding, police said on Sunday.

The victim, surnamed Lee, 43, sustained wounds to his neck, abdomen and face and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Yau Ma Tei in a semi-conscious state.

A worker at Capital Restaurant on Lung Cheung Road in Wong Tai Sin called police at 4.15pm on Sunday.

Officers were dispatched to the restaurant and later located the suspect at a roundabout near Chuk Yuen Estate on Sha Tin Pass Road. She was found to have a hand injury and was sent to the same hospital.

Initial investigations suggested the argument stemmed from relationship and financial issues.
