Recently, a major semiconductor company in Singapore unexpectedly pulled out of China, and another large factory in Shenzhen suddenly shut down.
On August 11, ASMPT, a global leader in semiconductor packaging and testing equipment, announced the liquidation of its subsidiary “Advanced Semiconductor Equipment (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.” (AEC) in Bao’an, Shenzhen, and the closure of its factory. Nearly 1,000 employees were left facing unemployment within three days, sparking protests.
