The newspaper added that under the proposals, Ukraine and the United States would also strike a US$50 billion deal to produce drones with Ukrainian companies.

US President Donald Trump said after talks with European leaders in Washington on Monday that Europe could provide security guarantees for Ukraine as part of a Russia peace deal, with Washington taking an oversight role.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force said early on Tuesday that two Russian strategic bombers took off from Russian airfields for a possible attack on Ukraine.

“We will provide additional updates if the situation changes,” the Air Force said on the Telegram messaging app.
