The Collapse of China’s Smart Driving: 36 Cars Tested on Highways, Domestic Brands Mostly Failed

On July 23rd, Chinese car website Dongche Di teamed up with CCTV to create a highly realistic highway “smart driving” test, which quickly went viral with its 90-minute video.
The main highlight of this test was that it was the first time a 15-kilometer stretch of highway and city roads was fully rented out to evaluate the driver-assist capabilities of mainstream car models in extreme scenarios.
The test involved 36 cars, including Tesla’s Model 3 and Model X, XPeng G6, Wenjie M9, Zhijie R7, Avita 12, Li Auto L6, Tengshi Z9GT EV, WEY Blue Mountain, Xiaomi SU7, NIO ES6, Leapmotor C10, ZEEKR 001, Ledo L60, BYD Qin L DM, and others.
