The Hong Kong Tourism Board has ramped up its summer campaign by increasing the number of available offers and discounts to more than 260 to encourage spending among tourists and locals amid a slow economy.

The board on Tuesday unveiled new additions to the campaign, which include buy-one-get-one-free offers on set dinners or à la carte dishes from renowned Cantonese restaurants, early-bird discounts for family-friendly facilities, and deals from various tourist attractions, as well as offers for popular fast-food items.
More than 100 hotels would continue to provide buy-one-get-one-free buffet lunches or dinners, alongside accommodation discounts, it said.
Initially launched in the second half of June in collaboration with local businesses, the board said the campaign had garnered overwhelming support, adding that the number of offers and discounts available on its “Hong Kong Summer Viva” website had grown from 150 to more than 260.
“Most of the offers and discounts are available for collection or redemption until August 31.” the board said, urging locals and visitors to enjoy value-added fun on top of their summertime experience.
