Hong Kong authorities have announced that all day schools will be suspended on Friday due to severe weather, including heavy rain and thunderstorms, as the remnants of storm Danas move across Guangdong.
The government’s extreme weather handling committee also said the first days of Secondary One admission registration, originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday at assigned schools, would proceed as planned for Thursday, as parents might have already made arrangements to register their children.
The registration date originally set for Friday would be rescheduled to next Monday, a government spokesman said.
“If you are unable to register your child in person or via an authorised representative on this new date, please contact the assigned secondary school directly,” he said.

“Alternatively, you can reach out to the Education Bureau’s School Places Allocation Section to make alternative registration arrangements.”
