Thai farmer Daeng Donsingha was already worried for her family of nine when rice prices crashed this year as the world’s second-largest exporter of the staple faced a resumption of Indian exports.

Now, she is also worried about tariffs unleashed by US President Donald Trump that could slash demand for Thai rice in the nation’s most valuable foreign market and create turmoil in an export industry worth billions of dollars.
