The Fire Services Department received at 4.59am on Monday a report of the incident at the flat in Wah Shun House of Wah Fu Estate in Southern district. The fire was extinguished at 5.31am, with no injuries reported.

“After a preliminary investigation, we found that the fire erupted inside the flat near the main door,” a department spokesman said.

“Police also found suspicious people in the building after checking the closed-circuit television (CCTV), which is believed to be a suspicious cause of the fire.”

The other fire broke out in the flat on Sunday, but the department stressed that the two blazes were unrelated and the latest one was not a resurgence.
