The force said on Thursday it had arrested the 32-year-old the day before in Tseung Kwan O after reviewing security camera footage.

On Tuesday last week, an employee at AXA’s customer service centre on the 20th floor of Tower 2 at Times Square in Causeway Bay discovered that cash previously kept in a drawer was missing.

Other employees also reported missing cash and filed a police report.

Police said a combined HK$129,000 was stolen from 83 staff members, involving cash and “red packet” money they were keeping on desks or in drawers.
