K-pop girl group NJZ, formerly NewJeans, will press on with their performance in Hong Kong on Sunday despite legal restrictions at home forbidding them from engaging in independent business activities.

The announcement was made by the members’ parents via social media on Friday, shortly after a Seoul court ruled in favour of their former agency Ador, which had requested a provisional injunction against the five members stipulating they must not pursue further independent activities until their contract dispute had been resolved.
“After much deliberation, we have decided to participate in the coming ComplexCon scheduled for March 23,” the group’s social media post read.
“This decision was made out of respect for our fans and all stakeholders involved, to prevent unnecessary disruption or harm to those who have been looking forward to the performance.”
NJZ is scheduled to headline Hong Kong’s second ComplexCon on March 23 in a much anticipated comeback show, after its five members halted activities starting last April as they entered into a legal dispute with their former agency over mistreatment allegations.

Ador, meanwhile, is accusing the members of illegally breaking their contracts.
