A Hong Kong woman has died after being rescued from a fire at a public housing estate.

The Fire Services Department received a report of the blaze at Lung Hei House, Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate in Kowloon, at around 10.30am on Tuesday. The fire was extinguished in less than half an hour.
The victim, in her 60s, was transported to Kwong Wah Hospital in Yau Ma Tei with burns on her face and hands and was certified dead around noon.
About 40 residents were evacuated from the building during the city’s latest fire outbreak.
In November, a man, 65, died and his daughter, 31, was injured after a fire engulfed their flat in New Jade Garden in Chai Wan. The blaze was suspected to have been caused by a short circuit in a mobile phone charger.

In September, an 86-year-old woman died while her daughter-in-law and two others – a 29-year-old man and his girlfriend – were hospitalised after a fire at the first floor of Shun King Building on Gough Street near the SoHo area of Sheung Wan. A short circuit in a television started the fire.
