Huang joined the Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology in late 2024 as a chair professor in its computer science and control engineering school, according to his faculty profile on the university’s website.

The highly cited scholar previously taught and conducted research for over 20 years at the Doha campus of Texas A&M University in Qatar. In Shenzhen, he will continue his work in intelligent control, optimisation and the dynamics of complex systems, according to his profile.

As one of the world’s most extensively cited and influential researchers in computer science and engineering, Huang applies mathematical principles to solve complex engineering problems, particularly in artificial intelligence, neural networks, and computational systems.

By bridging theoretical control mathematics with real-world applications, his research enables autonomous systems to remain safe, stable and robust in uncertain environments – ranging from self-driving cars to satellites and supply chains, among others.
