On December 25, 2025, China’s Ministry of Public Security announced that, on December 15, Chinese, Myanmar, and Thai police formed a joint task force for the first time to enter the Myawaddy area, including the KK Park and Asia-Pacific New City. They discussed how to carry out a concentrated crackdown. From December 16 to 19, Chinese police from Jilin and Henan provinces were responsible for escorting the suspects arrested during this operation back to China in batches.
Since the beginning of this year, over 7,600 Chinese nationals involved in online gambling and telecom fraud in the Myawaddy area have been repatriated. In the KK Park, 494 buildings related to fraud activities have been demolished, and the Asia-Pacific New City has been fully cleared.
