A video that has been shared widely on social media shows a girl being surrounded by a group of youngsters who slap her at least 15 times, with some encouraging others to “slap harder”. Some of them can also be heard swearing at her.

The Mong Kok district crime squad launched an investigation, with officers arresting four alleged male assailants and one female suspect, aged 15 to 22, on Friday and Saturday over assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

They are being detained for further investigation.
