A check of Golden Harvest’s website by the Post on Friday afternoon found that four of its cinemas in Olympian City, MegaBox in Kowloon Bay, StagE in Tuen Mun and Galaxy Plaza in Shau Kei Wan were not selling tickets from January 11.

Tickets for shows remained available at its other theatres in Tsim Sha Tsui, Whampoa and Tai Po.

According to Golden Harvest’s website, the company owned eight cinemas in total, with one in Nam Cheong’s V Walk marked “temporarily closed” when it shut down on December 26 last year.

At least nine cinemas ceased operations in 2024, including two operated by Golden Harvest in Kai Tak and Nam Cheong.

The others were Cine-Art House in Kowloon City, MCL Cinema at South Horizons, Cinema City at Langham Place and The Metroplex at Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre.
