3 Chinese nationals among 4 charged with running cocaine lab in Malaysia

Four individuals, including three Chinese nationals, have been charged in the Magistrate’s Court with ­operating a cocaine processing lab in the city of Nilai in Malaysia’s Negeri Sembilan state.

No plea was recorded from Tan Wee Jin and foreign nationals He Jingjing and Cheng Ziyue, all 36, and Hu Jingjie, 28, when they were charged before magistrate Syed Farid Syed Ali.

They were charged with running a drug production operation with the intent to traffic cocaine.

The alleged offence took place around 6pm on February 17 at a unit in Nilai Spring Villas.

All four were charged under Section 39 (1)(c) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, punishable under Section 39B (2) of the same Act.

If convicted, they face either the death penalty or 30 to 40 years in prison, along with caning.

Additionally, He, who was unrepresented, faced a second charge of trafficking 2.14kg of cocaine at the same time and location.
