Police said a passenger in one of the taxis was also hurt in the accident at 2.59pm. The man behind the wheel of the third vehicle involved, a Range Rover, was arrested for dangerous driving.

“The two taxis had stopped in the middle of the highway where their drivers were having a discussion when a private car crashed into them as it could not stop in time,” a police spokesman said.
