The Women Wellness Satellites open in Lam Tin and Tuen Mun on Wednesday after the first, located in Chai Wan, began operations on June 12 to provide women aged 64 or below with more personalised, prevention-based healthcare services.

Earlier this year, the government announced that services for women under the Department of Health would be integrated into the Primary Health Care Commission, with three Women Wellness Satellites being established.

As of August 31, 2,350 women have been referred to Women Wellness Satellites to access their services, with 1,070 women already receiving care.

“Some patients have chosen to visit the Women Wellness Satellites in Lam Tin and Tuen Mun, so they will be scheduled to receive services as soon as these satellites open,” chief medical officer Dr Sharon Ho Shu-wan said.

The services provided by the centre cover basic women’s health assessments, such as HPV DNA testing, breast and cervical cancer screenings, along with health education and counselling services.
