About one month ago, NHK broadcasted a documentary based on the book called Portraits of Running to Japan, which triggered an even bigger response. After watching it, many viewers walked away with just one feeling: wealthy Chinese people live an incredibly luxurious life in Japan. In the documentary, some people eat fish that costs over 100,000 yen a piece and drink wine worth millions of yen a bottle. Others have soaked in almost all of the more than 500 hot springs across Japan. Some even have bodyguards on high alert just for taking out the trash and greeting neighbors while living in Japan. It is truly extravagant.
