While both sides in this week's summit with U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping emphasized stability, they also exposed sharp fault lines between the world's two largest powers, from political prisoners to tariffs and Taiwan.
Trump says he did not ask China's Xi to pressure Iran over the Strait of Hormuz, but he believes Xi may still step in to help remedy the situation. Trump also says he plans to speak with Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te.
On China's practice of forced organ harvesting from living prisoners of conscience, U.S. lawmakers are considering the scope and scale of this atrocity and what they can do to stop it.
