Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, fired back at Zelensky’s claims made during a UN Security Council meeting last week.

“Russia has no legitimate reason – none at all – for making Iran and North Korea de facto accomplices in its criminal war in Europe,” Zelensky said, further accusing Pyongyang of supplying weapons that were being used to kill Ukrainian civilians.

In a parallel address, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken echoed Zelensky’s concerns, charging North Korea with sending “trainloads of weapons and ammunition to Russia, including ballistic missiles, launchers, and millions of artillery rounds”.

Responding to the accusations, Kim Yo-jong dismissed Zelensky’s remarks as “absurd”, labelling them a “reckless political provocation that cannot be justified”.
